What is a ReadyPlan? 🤔
A ReadyPlan is an architectural plan that is repeatable within a development. An option can be tacked onto a ReadyPlan to add a custom look and feel to a home. Homebound's Architecture Associates are responsible for maintaining a list of active ReadyPlans and Options in a development.
This process has downstream impacts, including:
- Determining the available ReadyPlans and Options that can be configured on projects through Lot Sequence Sheets
- Setting the framework in which procurement can build out scope for ReadyPlans and Options through Development Templates

_____
3 steps to create a ReadyPlan
Step 1: Name your ReadyPlan(s)
Navigate the Plans and Options tab within a Development. Click Create ReadyPlan. Give your ReadyPlan a name and Plan Code. Click Create ReadyPlan.
Step 2: Add Options to your ReadyPlan
Click a plan to open a plan detail page. Click Add options. Go through the add options flow and select the Exterior, Floor Plan, Interior, and Add-on Options that are offered with that plan. These options pull from the Global Options Library.
Step 3: Wrap Up Options and Publish your ReadyPlan
On the plan detail page, you will see the options you selected. If you need to add more, click Edit Options. Click an option to open its detail window. From here, you can edit the option's name and description, as well as archive it.
- Changing a ReadyPlan option's name will push through to all the projects it is configured on.
- Archiving an option will prevent it form being configured on future projects, however this will not remove it from any existing projects.
✐ Note: If you edit an option's name or description, you break the link from the Global Option Library. Any edit made to the Global Option's name or description will not pass down to the ReadyPlan Option
Back on the plan details page, double check that the option list is correct. When you are satisfied with your ReadyPlan, use the dropdown menu in the upper right to set its status to Published.

FAQ
-
Q: "If an option's scope definition varies by plan, does that require creating a new option in the Global Library? For example, the Enlarged Slider option on SWF Plan 5 means replacing a swing door and 3 windows with a 12 ft slider, but for Plans 3 & 6 means swapping the existing slider for a larger one. "
A: No - that would not require creating a new option for Procurement or ConOps; that said, we could if we think it'd serve us for reporting purposes to split them out. We can create a generic option name like Enlarged Slider and set plan-specific scope definitions and/or modify that Option Name at the plan-level to make it more descriptive without impacting the Global Option.

Q: "If an Option is archived in the Global Library, what happens to the projects and plans that it's already been assigned to?"
A: Archiving a Global Option will not remove it from existing projects or plans, it will only prevent it from being assigned to future ReadyPlans. One shortcoming is that it does not automatically archive that option on ReadyPlans where it's already been assigned -- after A&D Ops archives a Global Option, Architecture would need to archive that option within the ReadyPlans in a development to ensure it doesn't get accidentally added to a lot going forward. Additionally, it's important that Architecture communicates any Archived options to PreCon PMs who are responsible for maintaining the options assigned to specific projects in the Lot Summary Sheets.

Q: "If an Option is modified in the Global Library, what happens to the projects and plans that it's already been assigned to?"
A: If you edit a ReadyPlan Option's name or description, you break the link from the Global Option Library. Any edit made to the Global Option's name or description will not pass down. Otherwise, changes to an Option Name in the Global Library automatically push through to all ReadyPlans and project where that option has already been assigned.
