What is the Global Options Library? 🤔
The Global Options Library is a comprehensive list of all construction options that a home builder offers. This list does not belong to any particular development or project. Options allow a builder to offer customizations on a standard house plan, so that the resulting homes can have a unique feel.

Why did we do this?
The Global Options Library is a necessary tool for the creation of ReadyPlans and Options within a development. This library will provide the list of options that can be assigned to a whole house plan.
Here are some problems we can solve with the Global Options Library:
- By consolidating all options into one list, we can ensure standardized naming across developments.
- With a "master list" of options, the Global Options Manager can easily maintain and oversee the options offerings.

3 steps to create and manage global options.
Step 1: Create a Global Option
To create a new Global Option, navigate to the Libraries page in the Global Nav Bar, then select Global options in the sidebar. Click the Create option button. Give your option a name and select an option type. Click Create option.
The new option will appear at the bottom of the Global Options list.
✐ Note: New options have an Active status.
Step 2: Manage Global Options
Click an option to open a details page, where you can:
- Edit the option's name, description, option type, and location(s).
- Toggle on any requirements for that option.
- Archive an option.
Once you have finished entering all pertinent information, hit 'x' to close the details page and return to the Global Options list. All information will have autosaved.
Step 3: Archive a Global Option
If a Global Option is no longer available, it can be archived. Archived options will not be available for future developments. However, developments currently offering this option will not be affected. The option's status will now read 'Archived' and the Active date will have an end date.
✐ Note: Once archived, a Global Option cannot return to 'Active' status.
