What are Job Logs?
"Job Logs" are a way for collaborators to record the status and progress of construction projects each day. Users can now create multiple notes to capture different events that occur on the same day.
✐ Note: You can always look up unfamiliar terms in our Comprehensive Glossary of Key Terms. Key terms are bolded, italicized and in quotation marks. Like so, "Bill"

Why did we create Job Logs?
Job Logs allows users to log daily progress on a project with notes and photos. Job logs have a photo gallery for users to see all progress photos for a project. There are many use cases for using job logs, see a few examples below.
- Weather issues preventing pouring the foundation? Make a job log with a weather delay flag.
- Need to document the progress of demolition? Make a job log with a photo.
- Need to know the context for a delay early in a project? Search existing job logs on a project.
✐ Note: Delay Flags and the ability to attach Job Log notes to Schedule Tasks will be released soon!

Who uses Job Logs?
Job Logs document progress on a home in the Construction stage. Construction Operations roles will use Job Logs for internal documentation and communication.
- ConOps Project Manager
- ConOps Superintendents
- Any ConOps user that needs more information on project process
✐ Note: ConOps will use the Job Logs flow to attach Delay Flags to Schedule Tasks when the feature is released.

How to use Job Logs?
Step 1: Locate Job Logs
Job Logs can be found on both the project and development level.
On a project page, select "Job Logs" in the project pane on the left.
On a development page, select "Job Logs" in the pane on the left.
✐ Note: If you aren't seeing all job logs, check the date range filter at the top of the page. The default setting for the date range filter is two weeks in the past. You can adjust or delete the date range as needed. Continue reading this article for more information about filters.
Step 2: Add a Job Log Note
There are two ways to add a new note to a job log.
If no Job Log notes have been added for that day, you will need to use the calendar drop down to add the first note for that day.
Click the blue "Add New Job Log" button in the top right corner and use the calendar picker to locate the appropriate date. Dates that have Job Log notes already will have a blue dot under the date.
You can also add a note to an existing job log by clicking the blue "Add Note" button for that particular date.
✐ Note: When adding a new note, a title and description are required. Best practice is for users to add daily progress photos.
Users are able to upload a photo for a specific day without a note by clicking "Add Image" for that date. These images will also appear in the Gallery.
Job Logs have a "Comments" tab that allows users to @ tag other employees at Homebound, upload attachments, and add themselves as watchers.
This comment feature functions the same as all comment features across Blueprint.
- Watchers will receive email notifications when changes are made to the note.
- Attachments will only live in this comments section - documents added to comments will not appear on the project "Documents" tab.
Step 3: Searching and Filtering Job Logs
Job Logs have a dashboard at the top with filtering options and a search bar. The search bar will populate Job Logs notes that have that text in the title or description.
One default filter at the top of the page is the date range. You can select a date range to surface only those Job Logs for those dates, or you can delete the date range altogether and see all Job Logs on the project.
The date range filter also affects photos in the Gallery. You can toggle the Gallery button to switch from seeing all Job Log notes to seeing only Job Log photos.
✐ Note: The default setting for the date range filter is two weeks in the past. You can adjust or delete the date range as needed.
Click the "More Filters" button located on the top dashboard to search for a specific job log by 'Note Type', 'Weather', or by 'Flags'.
Step 4: Job Logs + Schedules Connection
✐ Note: This feature is coming soon! Check back here when the Product Announcement is released in Slack.
