What are Checklists?
"Checklist items" on schedules are actions that must be completed before the entire task can be completed. A task cannot be marked complete until all checklist items have been checked.
✐ Note: You can always look up unfamiliar terms in our Comprehensive Glossary of Key Terms. Key terms are bolded, italicized and in quotation marks. Like so, "Bill"

Why did we create Checklist items?
By creating checklist items on tasks, we were able to reduce the number of schedule tasks and dependencies on schedules, making them less complex to manage. Checklists also ensure that no smaller action items go unnoticed before completing a schedule task.

Who uses Checklists?
Any user of schedules at the Development or Project level may encounter checklist items on a schedule. This includes:
- Design and Procurement on Development schedules
- Pre-Con project managers on pre-construction Project schedules
- ConOps project managers and superintendents on construction Project schedules

How to use Checklists?
Step 1: Identify tasks that have checklist items
Tasks that have checklist items will have a clipboard icon on the schedules list view.
If all checklist items are checked and the task is marked complete, a green checkmark will appear inside the clipboard icon (as shown below). Clipboard icons without a green checkmark indicate that the task status is not yet marked complete.
Step 2: Locate checklist items in the schedule task side panel
To locate a task's checklist, open the task schedule side panel. Checklists can be found at the bottom of the Details tab.
Checklist items that were added to a task from a schedule template cannot be deleted.
Users can add additional checklist items by clicking "Add an item" from within the project schedule. Checklist items that were added at the project level can be deleted by clicking on the trash can icon to the right.
Step 3: Completing a task with checklist items
Task Complete status will be disabled until all checklist items are checked.
✐ Note: Task Complete status will also be disabled when the task end date is in the future. The end date should be today's date or the next day to unblock the Complete status.
Users should click the checkbox to indicate a checklist item is completed. Once all checklist items are complete, the Complete status will be available in the task status drop down.
