What are Gantt Schedules?

Gantt schedules are a new view of Project Schedules that allows users to view and edit existing and future Schedule information in the Gantt view.

3 steps to Utilize Gantt Schedules

Step 1: Navigate to the Intended Project Schedule

Step 2: Navigate to Gantt View

Select the Gantt Tab to navigate to the Gantt View of Schedules.

✐ Note: “Control + scroll” or “Command + scroll” allows you to zoom in and out of the Gantt schedule

By dragging out the Gantt Pane, users can reveal start, end and duration columns for each task.

Step 3: Edit Tasks in Gantt View

Open Task Super Drawer

By double clicking the Task Bar, users can open the Task Super Drawer to view and edit all task information

Update Start/End Dates and Duration 

By dragging out the right and left ends of the Task Bar, users are able to update the start and end dates of tasks. When start dates are adjusted, the lead/lag between dependent tasks is automatically recalculated and updated in the Relationships tab of the super drawer

✐ Note: Any Start/end dates that affect the start/end date of the phase/subphase will be reflected in the progress bar of the phase/subphase

Dependency Lines

Dependency lines can be created by dragging a line from one task to another task. Users have the ability to create each dependency type (FS, SS, SF, FF). 

✐ Note: Users will receive an error when attempting to move a task's start/end date to a weekend date, when trying to form a circular relationship, or when attempting to link a previously linked predecessor to a task (linking the same predecessor twice)

Gantt Schedule Views

Critical Path

When users select "Show Critical Path" from the dropdown, all critical path tasks and dependency lines will display as red.

Task Labels

When users select "Task Labels" from the dropdown, the names of all tasks will be applied to the task bars in the Gantt.

Baseline View

When users select "Show Baselines" from the dropdown, current baseline data will be displayed in the Gantt.

Task Search

When users search for tasks by name in the Gantt View search bar, they will be brought to the task in Gantt View. Once a task is selected, the selected task name row will be highlighted, and the task gantt bar is highlighted.
