What is Project Status?

Each project in our platform has a "Project Status" that indicates where in the homebuilding process that particular project is. Some Project Statuses are automated based on schedule completion while others are updated manually.

Why did we create Project Status?

Project Status tells us where in the homebuilding process a particular project is. Some ways users may interact with Project Status is by filtering for projects with a particular status to set a custom view or selecting projects with a particular status(es) for reporting purposes.

Who uses Project Status?

Construction Operations teams are responsible for manually updating Project Status or for updating schedule tasks that automatically update Project Status.

Some teams may focus on projects with a particular status. An example is the Warranty or Sales team who would want to surface all projects "Under Warranty".

All users will have access to Project Status information on the global Projects page or on the project itself. Therefore, it is important for all users to understand the different statuses and what they indicate about a project's current progress.

What are the Project Statuses in Blueprint?

Project Status	Definition	Automation
Active	Homebound is actively pursuing or building the project	Automated process; All projects begin as "Active" when the opportunity is created in Salesforce
Disqualified	Homebound is not moving forward with the project	Manual process; ConOps will update
Hold	Homebound is unsure if this project will go forward	Manual process; ConOps will update
Construction Complete	"Vertical Complete" milestone in the Construction schedule is complete	Automated process; ConOps will complete the schedule milestone and the project status will automatically update
Under Warranty	"Vertical Complete" AND "Delivery Complete" milestones in the Construction schedule are complete	ConOps will complete the "Vertical Complete" schedule milestone; Sales will update the opportunity in Salesforce, which will automatically update the "Delivery Complete" milestone status and the project status

How to use Project Status?

Step 1: Filter for projects with a particular status

On the global Projects page, you can set filters to show projects in a particular status or statuses. You can select more than one filter to customize this view.

✐ Note: For ConOps teams, it is best practice to filter for Active and Construction Complete projects. Other teams/individuals may want to include Under Warranty projects in their view as well.

✐ Note: You can use the Sort button next to the column name to sort items in that column. This is a standard feature across Blueprint.

Step 2: Update Project Status Manually

Users can manually update a project's status by navigating to the Project Settings page and selecting the appropriate status from the drop down. Use the table above for clarity around project status definitions.

There are two ways to navigate to the Project Settings page:

1. From the Project Dashboard, select the gear icon and click "Project Settings"

2. From anywhere on the project, select the final link in the left side panel - "Settings"

Some statuses require additional information for the new status to save in Blueprint. If additional information is required, the fields beneath the project status drop down will turn red with a warning message letting you know additional information is required.
