Trade Commitment Change Orders (VPOs)
Trade commitment change orders, sometimes referred to as variance POs, are necessary to keep project budgets accurate when there is a variance between the original trade commitment and actual assumed costs or additional scope has arisen. Read on to see a step by step guide to creating a trade commitment change order directly from a PO or Trade Commitment.
Note: You can also create a Change Order or VPO to a Trade Commitment from a Change Event
Step 1: Navigate to a Trade Commitment
From an individual project screen, navigate to the Trade Commitments tab in the left hand menu bar. Once you are in the trade commitments tab, determine the trade commitment you would like to issue a change order for and click into its details view.
Step 2: Under Actions, Select Add Change Order
In an individual trade commitment's screen, navigate up to the top right actions menu. From this menu, select "Add Change Order."
Step 3: Add Line Items and Accompanying Information
Currently, line items can be added one by one from the line items that already exist in the associated project.
Once you add the necessary line items then you can add the "Cost" increase then press Create. This will save the "VPO" as a Draft.
Note: Uploading a Pricing Agreement and/or entering an Execution date are optional at this point
Step 4: Either Upload the Pricing Agreement or Upload to PandaDoc
Now you have a VPO in Draft format and edits can still be made. To have the VPO marked as "signed" you can either simply upload your pricing agreement or upload the VPO to PandaDoc.
Step 5: Review Updated Trade Commitments Screen or Budget Screen
Now that have a signed "VPO" you can review the Budget Screen to ensure that the "Committed" amount shows correctly on any line items included.
