What is the Material Catalog?
The Material Catalog is our internal repository of construction materials, placeholders and products. By bringing the Material Catalog into Blueprint, better takeoffs, personalizations, and budgets can be unlocked. It helps to power takeoffs that will be the back bone of our project budgets
Key terms
|
Product |
Materials will be included in the design package such as lighting and plumbing fixtures |
|
Placeholders |
A placeholder for a product that can be added to the takeoffs at a later time |
| Construction Materials | These are materials that will be included in the takeoffs and necessary for construction but not part of the design package. An example would be lumber |
Steps to add to the Material Catalog
Step 1: Navigate into the Material Catalog
After entering Blueprint, press "Libraries" in the top black navigation bar.
Step 2: Press Add New in the Top Right
From the Material Catalog, press the blue "Add New" button in the top right of the page. This will direct you to a screen to enter all applicable information about the new material.
Step 3: Add in Product Information
Within the new entry, add information to the material overview, choose type (product, placeholder or construction material) name, item, brand and then add a website or description if applicable.
✐ Note: required fields are type, name and item
Step 4: Add Variants to the Material
Under the Variant section you can enter a SKU/Model number and set the status to Active or Archive. Installation and other attributes like Width and Height will be important to specify if that particular material or product will actually work for a construction plan and fit into the takeoffs.
