What is a Development Contract?
A development contract is a contract signed by a trade to confirm their pricing on available ready plans and options in a development. These contracts do not indicate that a trade will be selected for work on any particular lot in the development but does allow for that trade to be selected when releasing purchase orders for a lot.

4 steps to Creating a Development Contract
Step 1: Ensure Scope Templates are Applied to the Development
Before a development contract can be issued, scope templates must be applied to the development. These templates encompass the comprehensive list of cost codes available to contract against at the development level.
Step 2: Create a Bid Request (Optional if a bid exists outside of BP)
To generate a bid request from Blueprint, press "Create Bid Request." This will prompt you to select what line items you'd like to include in the bid request. Once you have selected all applicable lines, press "Create Bid Request" again to generate a spreadsheet download (.csv).
✐ Note: Selected line items will pull from all active templates assigned to the development.
Step 3: Create Contract
Press "Create Contract" to start adding the preliminary information of the development contract: the trade partner, trade preference (either primary or secondary), and the accompanying pricing import. The pricing import, if not from a Blueprint generated bid request, must have the plan, item code, location, cost type, and total cost.
Step 4: Confirm Contract Details and Upload to PandaDoc
After the development contract has been drafted, trade signatory information and per template costs will be generated. After confirming all information is correct, press "Upload to PandaDoc" in the top right of the screen. From there, the commitment can be sent out to the trade and Homebound authorized signatory for signing.
