User Goal: To understand the purpose and process for creating both the Preliminary and Final Estimate during the Construction stage
Step 1 - Estimating for (specs) is done outside of Blueprint
Then the estimating data is manually entered into the Specs & Selections page in Blueprint
Step 2 - Design enters in Selections
Design pulls in the appropriate design template with base products set; works with Homeowner to make initial selections.
Note: Selections may not be finalized by the time of the Preliminary Estimate
Step 3 - Create a Preliminary Estimate
From the Specs & Selections page create a Preliminary Estimate and name it accordingly
Step 4 - Export the Preliminary Estimate and present to the Homeowner
On the Line Items tab of the Preliminary Estimate, clicking Export will open a new tab with the estimate's line item data in a PDF-able view. In your browser, go to File -> Print and select the "Print to PDF" option.
Step 5 - Update Specs & Selections Based on Review and Approval
In preparation for creating a Final Estimate and then the Construction Contract make all necessary changes to the Specs & Selections page based on Homeowner feedback.
Step 6 - Create the Final Estimate
Note: A Final Estimate cannot be created until all selections are finalized.
Step 7 - Review and Accept the Final Estimate
Note: Once a Final Estimate is created then the Specs & Selections are locked
Step 8 - Create the Construction Contract
Once you have "Accepted" the Final Estimate then you can Create the Construction Contract
Estimating While Lot is Under Contract
During project creation, scope will be input from the Underwritten Budget into Specs and Selections. Once the Project is reviewed and site specific costs are added, a Final Estimate will need to be created (indicating no further changes) and approved before the Project Status is updated to Active.
